Today’s Nintendo Direct Revealed a Lot of Exciting Things

Today’s Nintendo Direct Revealed a Lot of Exciting Things

Today, Nintendo revealed a number of exciting games, announcements and things to look forward to in the coming future.

First and foremost, Super Mario Maker 2 was revealed for Switch. With it basically being the latest Wii U game to appear on the Switch, it boasts more characters and content, meaning it should be everything the original could ever hope to be. It’s currently set to release June 2019, meaning there will be plenty to enjoy by the end of the year.

Shortly after players will have Dragon Quest Builders 2 to enjoy. Building off the success of the previous title, there will be more to see and do come July 12, 2019.

Those looking for a real Dragon Quest game will get to enjoy Dragon Quest XI S this fall. With 3D and 16-bit visuals, it will be exciting for Switch players to see the game we called the best RPG of 2018.

Tokyo RPG Factory, developer of I Am Setsuna and LOST SPHEAR, revealed Oninaki. This action RPG, set to release this summer, asks players to rescue a soul from the veil of death.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is the latest in the franchise and is set to bring some tactics on the go July 26, 2019.

Arguably one of the best Zelda games, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, is getting a remake. It’s set for release sometime this year and should be very exciting.

Tetris 99 asks players to battle against 99 players releases today for free. If you want to see if you’re the best, be ready to prove it.

Final Fantasy IX is also set to release today, with Final Fantasy VII coming March 26, 2019. Popular indie game, Unravel 2, will release a little before on March 22, 2019. Assassin’s Creed 3, arguably one of the most divisive titles in the franchise, is getting a remaster on May 21, 2019. Hellblade: Sensua’s Sacrifice and Bloodstained are coming to Switch this spring, with Dead by Daylight shooting for a fall release.

While that covers upcoming releases, some existing games are getting some delightful updates.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 3.0 is set to release in April, which brings a number of changes and the highly anticipated release of Joker.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is getting co-op, plus a paid DLC pack that includes 18 new challenges across five new levels later today.

Finally, Starlink: Battle for Atlas is getting more Star Fox content this spring.
