Due to the impending release of the Nintendo Switch in a month’s time, Nintendo has ceased production of the Wii U console worldwide. No more new consoles are being produced.

As reported by Kotaku, Nintendo of America left a statement saying that “Wii U production has ended globally“. New consoles are not being produced, so any stock that retailers have are the last they will have.

This is sad news for the console’s future, but it could be a blessing in disguise. If you don’t have enough money for a Switch, you can get the Wii U for a cheap price as retailers are sure to discount the console before the Switch comes out on March 3rd.

Not to mention you can still play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the old console. There’s also other great games you may have missed such as Xenoblade Chronicles X, Bayonetta 2 and a lot more.
