Markus Persson aka Notch has today released Minecraft Beta version 1.8.1 which brings in a few needed bug fixes to the game.
The biggest thing that the patch fixed was the “shift click bug” which according to Jens caused “client crashes when you attempt to add to many items to a double chest by shift-clicking in SMP”.
Other changes are currently unknown but if 1.7 was anything to go on expect a couple more patches to come in the next few days.

There were SOOOOO many more bug fixes than that my friend. Here’s a list of all the ones I ALONE found:
1: Pistons now operate WITH redstone wire
2: Pistons used to disable sand/gravel physics. When pushed, sand or gravel would stay in place and not fall. This was fixed.
3: Animals run away when hit (in a moer effective manor)
4: See through walls glitch (previously achieved by covering yourself in gravel) is now fixed
And several non-user viewable bugs in the system.
The only thing they HAVEN’T fixed in 1.8.1 is the powered minecart glitch (minecarts are ineffective entirely)
It did however add one glitch where ocassionally you will fall through a block but its rare

When Ever I try to make a world my game just crashes i dont know what to do HELP
It won’t let me fast forward through the days with the F6 and F7 keys. Anyone else have this problem?
The animal spawn seems to be messed up I am only having sheep spawn I have not seen a cow chicken or pig in hours.

My best guess as to the time-control thing was that it was meant for the “expert crafters” to play around with the prerelease. I’m pretty sure they didn’t mean for that to be in the actual game.
when i downloaded 1.8.1 it deleted or removed single player commands and toomanyitems, does any1 know how to fix it?
Hey guys im trying to find a 1.8.1 server and all of my frebds ones dont wirk or are not upgraded. pleeeeeeeeeeeease help me find one.
@Bob – you’ll need to reobtain 1.8.1 compatible versions of the mods and reinstall them.

When you update your minecraft’s .jar file, it deletes all of your mods and replaces them with a vanilla copy of minecraft.
To fix, I would reinstall the mods, but they might not have a compatible version that’ll work with 1.8.1.

when minecraft is updated, mods need to be updated too or they won’t work. To update them you have to download the latest version (for 1.8.1) and install that. I’m nto sure about single play command, but Toomany items has definitly been updated, i have personally downloaded it and it is working fine.

The game keeps failing on me… It constantly crashes and gives me the error “Minecraft has run out of memory, to prevent data loss the game will now close, please restart the game.”
I just play normally… Whats going on?
try changing the render distance to normal instead of far it’s a known bug and they are trying to fix it to change render distance either go to the options or press F3 +F

How come my minecraft looks terrible.. like I can see through the edges of blocks? Especially water, it looks pink and really ruins any hopes I have of building for the sake of looks
