In Red Dead Redemption 2, Arthur Morgan’s arsenal of weapons isn’t only limited to guns or rifles. In fact, he also hunts animals through the use of bows and arrows.
What many don’t know, Arthur Morgan also uses swords where he can use a legendary Pirate Sword from the game to cut down his enemies. Yes, Arthur can become a pirate using the sword he gets from the game, and if you are looking to complete the compendium, you will be need to find it.

Locating the Pirate Sword will take quite some time as it’s located further down south. Fortunately, you can get the Pirate Sword as early as Chapter 2.
Locating the Pirate Sword
The Pirate Sword is located on a small island near Saint Dennis. Open the world map and locate the island by looking at the screenshot provided above.
You will find the Pirate Sword inside of a wrecked boat. Before you proceed, make sure you are ready to face a lot of alligators as it is full of them in this small island. You can mount your horse to swim across the island, but I suggest not doing it as it would be hard for it to call back later on.
When you find the Pirate Sword, it will say that it’s broken. However, if you decide to use them in combat, it’s quite competent in taking down enemies but in games like this, I would prefer using guns and rifles as most enemies are using long-ranged weapons rather than short range like the Pirate Sword.
Upon getting the Pirate Sword, an entry on your Compendium will be unlocked. The Pirate Sword is among the many weapons or items that Arthur can find in Red Dead Redemption 2. If you decide not to use the Pirate Sword, think of it as a collectible item as you it’s one of the requirements to get 100% completion in the game.
