At E3 2018 and Gamescom 2018, gameplay footage of Cyberpunk 2077 was only shown to journalists and other personnel behind closed doors. While now developer CD Projekt RED has released similar gameplay footage today online giving the public a first taste of what this game is truly about.
The main character is named V and you can choose either a male or female character. For this gameplay footage, the developer chose to use the walkthrough as a woman. Anyway as expected, Cyberpunk 2077 will be a first person shooter set in a futuristic city similar to the Blade Runner movies.
CD Projekt RED also posted the following details about the gameplay walkthrough. You can read the details below.
“Watch 48 minutes of official 2018 gameplay from Cyberpunk 2077 and get a glimpse into the world of perils and possibilities that is Night City — the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future. This video contains work-in-progress gameplay — everything you see is potentially subject to change.”
The narrator of the gameplay walkthrough even says the city is huge and gamers can explore it without having to wait for any loading times. The world is seamless and there’s lots of things for you to see and do in the city.
You can read below a small synopsis of the game. There’s still no release date for the game, but it is expected to be out in the near future.
“Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG from the creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the same universe as Mike Pondsmith’s classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.”
