Analyst Believes Call of Duty Might Add A Battle Royal Mode In The Future

Analyst Believes Call of Duty Might Add A Battle Royal Mode In The Future

The Battle Royale format has become very popular thanks to games like PUBG and Fortnite. Thanks to the new genre being so popular, we might be seeing other AAA video games add a mode of its own and this could include the famous Call of Duty franchise.

A Wall Street Journal reporter (via Charlie Intel) shows a report from an analysis and they believe Activision is looking closely at what is being done from other gaming publishers. The publisher is very interested in the current Battle Royale game mode which only became popular last year.

The only Call of Duty game to have some type of Battle Royale mode so far is the China exclusive game called Call of Duty Online. Due to this, there is a small chance we could see a similar mode in future COD titles.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is the next game in the pipeline and it will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 12th, 2018. Whether or not COD’s version of Battle Royale will have 100 players or so remains to be seen. COD games have usually been set inside smaller linear maps to entice faster style of combat.

It would not be surprising if Activision decides to jump into the Battle Royal bandwagon. Both Fortnite and PUBG are two of the most played multiplayer online video games out there today.
