Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones fans were ecstatic Saturday night when a Game of Thrones game from Telltale Games was announced at the VGX. Considering the track record of recent for Telltale Games, fans had great reason to be overly excited. At the VGX we only got a mere teaser trailer, but we received a few new details today from the official press release discussing the game.

This press release lets it be known that this is not just a one-off game but rather just a piece of the puzzle for Game of Thrones games, as the deal is a multiple year and multiple title agreement. The press release included a statement from Dan Connors, co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games.

Since the very beginning, Telltale’s goal has been to work alongside the most talented and respected forces in entertainment, bringing their worlds to the interactive space as no other game studio can. Working with HBO to develop a new game series based on Game of Thrones is a natural fit for our studio. This partnership will create an experience that will captivate the huge, global Game of Thrones audience. It will put them in control of the epic stories of warfare, intrigue, violence and revenge that we know and love.

Since it was previously announced that the game would be based on the television series rather than the books, this will be very interesting to see alongside the TV series.
