Atlus gets permission to use dormant Sega IP

Sega

Recently, Atlus was saved from bankruptcy by becoming a subsidiary of Sega. The very intriguing news from this acquisition came in this month’s latest issue of Famitsu during an interview with Sega Sammy chief operating officer Naoya Tsurumi. During this interview, it was revealed that Atlus is being allowed access to any of Sega’s dormant IPs.

Through this new relationship, Atlus will still handle the managing of its own entities and Sega will sell them. However, now Atlus will also have access to these dormant Sega IPs, which could include series such as Jet Set Radio, Sakaru Wars, and Space Channel 5.

There is no word from Sega or Atlus on if any of these IPs could specifically be brought back anytime soon, but there is the option there for it to happen in the future.
