Just a day after it was revealed that the PlayStation 4 would be able to support up to eight player party chat, Microsoft took no time in confirming they would be able to do the same thing on the upcoming Xbox One.
Game Informer asked Microsoft about this and their response was “At launch, up to eight people will be able to join a Party Chat at a time on Xbox One.” The interesting part of this is the “at launch” part which makes you think they may expand the number allowed at some point in the future.
Eight player party chat is also the same number that was allowed on the Xbox 360, which was the only console to allow party chats in the current generation.
