Five Essential Tips for Playing ‘Shin Megami Tensei IV’

Shin Megami Tensei IV Tips

4. Stock Up a lot of Items

When you enter a dungeon where it has multiple floors, it would be hard to survive with no supplies of healing items in hand. Sure the demons have healing abilities but by the time you reach the end of that dungeon, you will be out of MP. To prevent that happening, make sure you stock up on items that can heal your HP and MP (Chakra item). Trust me, when you have a lot healing items, it is much easier to survive the dungeons and you will have the confidence to fight through the demons without worrying of using your HP to heal yourself and the demons in your party.

Another advantage of having a lot of items is when you are recruiting demons. Since the demons will ask for certain things like different kind of items, the more you have means the more chances of them joining you. If at some point you cannot give them the item that they want, they will get aggressive and fight you, instead of joining your party.

5. Pick the Not-So-Obvious Choice when Talking to Demons

Recruiting demons can be tough. When you engage in a conversation with them and they ask you a question, it’s always not best to give them the answer that would seem obvious. If they ask you, “Are you hungry”, don’t pick the most logical option and tell them, “Yes I’m hungry”. Instead, tell them that you are “Full” and that will somewhat persuade them to join. Also, to make sure you pick the right choice on the demon, get to know them; you can easily tell what type of answers they will be asking.

Once you get through the conversation phase, the demons will then ask you for items. As I mentioned in the tip above, it’s best to have a lot of items. For every fight that you engage, you will always get items. Keep them and make sure to not use them as they will become very handy later on. Getting to know what item they want is random but the most common ones they always ask for are “Life Stone”, “Chakra Drop”, “your HP”, or “your MP”. Be prepared.
