A few weeks ago there was rumor that Final Fantasy Versus XIII was cancelled but Square Enix said this was not the case. Sony is facing the same predicament with rumors that The Last Guardian has been canned.
The trademark for “The Last Guardian” was reported to be “dead” and “abandoned” as discovered by PlayStation Lifestyle.
However, a report on TheSixthAxis says journalists on twitter say Sony is still developing the game but there’s nothing else new to report on the game at this time.
It’s possible someone from Sony did not reapply for an extension on the “The Last Guardian” name.
The Last Guardian has been in development for several years now and was set to be released in 2011. No further release date has been revealed for the game but it’s good to know the game has not been cancelled as feared before.
