GAME and Gamestation To Start Selling Digital Titles In Their Retail Stores

Gameindustry.Biz has reported that UK retailers GAME and Gamestation stores will be selling digital titles.

It seems odd for a retailer to sell digital titles, but GAME has a partnership with SCEE across Europe to offer titles from a wide variety of both digital and physical products.

Customers can browse the stores from September to see first-party Sony digital titles such as the God of War Collection, MAG and Killzone Steel Rain Map Pack.

This is a significant step forward in our digital strategy. For the first time, gamers will be able to browse a wide range of digital titles for the PlayStation Network in our stores, alongside a variety of other digital and physical products,” said Ian Shepherd, GAME CEO.

“The partnership reflects the close and long standing relationship between GAME and SCEE across Europe as both companies move rapidly to innovate and bring new products and services to customers.”

Time will tell if other retail chains across the world follow this unique trend. What are your thoughts on this idea?
