Anonymous Reveals When They Will Attack Sony Next

Anonymous has revealed that their next attack against Sony will take place once the PSN is back up.

When asked in the groups IRC one Anonymous member replied that the attack is planned for when the PSN is back online. They made an effort to emphasise that they didn’t bring the PSN down and the pending attack on Sony will not be against the PSN.

With Anonymous changing away from the PSN and gamers and only targeting Sony will it cause more support for them? Comment your opinion below.

  15. hack the predatory lending banks that fucked our economy, hack the politicians that do not even show up to vote when congress is in session, hack the colleges that used to educate and now just worry about making money on research programs, hack the “hedge fund” brokers that are essentially “ponzi schemers” on wall street, hack wall mart for manipulating our welfare system to offer employee benefits at the expense of the tax payer, hack the oil companies for price fixing and hack bias news organizations that pass off their own interpretations as fact to an easily manipulated society…Sony is likely not losing any amount of money that would be detrimental enough to “teach them a lesson.” They will still bill out all their paying customers for services now not rendered. Why is it that I educated myself, provide services for my community on an individual basis, still understand the ultimately frivolous nature of gaming but enjoy it as a way to spend my free time, only to have it taken away by self proclaimed “musketeers.” I understand the ideology of hacking and the need to “force awareness.” If these hackers really think they have an argument that crashing the PSN solved, I have yet to hear one that applies to logic. So far it seems like a self indulgent experiment that has nothing to do with the routes and heritage of hacking. The only people they are really pissing off so far (besides maybe a few hundred Sony programmers and the religious gamers) are the people that used to be fascinated by and support the rebellion of hackers in general. It is like they wanted to prove they could degrade their own system of communication, fairly contradictory to the ideology of spreading technological availability to those that would not otherwise have it. Although I do look forward to gaming when I have the time and always use the PSN to do so, having it taken away is not what upsets me. It is the idea that these hackers might actually believe they are achieving this shock and awe attention through anything but a personal vendetta that few, not even Sony thinks is effective. Yes I am impressed that they could accomplish this network crash, but why do so at the expense of a large number of your own supporters? I guarantee you the “administration” of Sony who they set out to threaten are quite comfortable knowing they have the only product like this one and as a result their customer basis and job security will not be effected.

Ok firstly this hasn’t really pissed me off that much because I usually just visit my girlfriend during the holidays anyway (which non of these hackers would know what im talking about :) ) or just go outside and make Parkour videos for You Tube. But I have noticed that this is really pissing people off but dont blame this on sony, you cant complain to sony either because we are getting online gaming for free, so technically we are not paying sony to pay someone to look over the PSN 24/7, so if you want to support sony during this time go and buy a DLC pack or quit whining and go pay for X-Box Live. And secondly, Why? Why would people want to hack Sony in the first place? Go and get a fucking life why dont you. You seriously get no positive outcome from hacking stuff. Seriously, all these people want to do is play there fucking games, so why dont you leave Sony alone, because if any of use PSN users find you, we are gonna seriously hook you one in the face. And one more thing, im pretty shure Sony isn’t sitting back and chilling on this, they would be working all day and night to get this back up and running for you guys, so dont be angry with Sony.   22. Lets look at this: Sony realizes that they are stupid and learns that the community is smarter then them and doesn’t want people “adding onto” their ps3. Sony creates patch that doesn’t allow that to happen any more. GeoHot and some other people figure out to crack the ps3 again after the patch. Sony sues their asses. So anon threatens and attacks Sony servers. Promising they wouldn’t effect innocent gamers because they’re not evolved, they go after Sonys PSN. PSN goes down, it’s now been 3 days wasted.

    if it wasn’t for 2 retarded crackers, some 85 million gamers would still be able to play their games and watch there net flix.

  28. Attacking Sony will not gain this group any support within gaming circles. Gamers will no doubt simply watch on with detached interest as two entities express there differences of opinion. If the experience of the online network remains intact there will be very little cause for concern from a gamers perspective, however simply sitting on the middle of the fence in such situations may not prove beneficial in the short term. If already tense relations worsen between Sony and Anonymous, gamers may in the extreme be forced to jump ship. Unfortunately not all individuals would be in a position to do so and thus would begin the inevitable victims of war scenario.

  32. Look the reason this is happening is because a group of social rejects living in their mommy’s basement cant help the fact but make everyone feel as pathetic as them. Fortunately you can watch netflix if you just keep at it it will keep bringing up the sign in box try to sign in each time. First time try to sign in let it tell you it is down. Then let netflix load and it will tell you to sign in again, do so. Let it tell you again it is down and and netflix should be loaded and it will let you watch and download still you just have to go through the steps. Hope this is fixed and hope all the social rejects out there anon or not go fuck themselves and the gaming systems alone. Give it up if you want to change shit so much, get off your dead asses and get a job in the game designing world.

  37. Also just read that psn was ‘turned off’ by sony because of (outside attacks)so…. they turned it off to save our credit card details so just be patient.

And these “Rights” of ours are not our rights at all,yes we have various rights but not the right to control sony, in fact, if you read the user agreement from sony when you sing up, these rights are sony’s rights so you are in the wrong the whole way. And you are also violating rights in the proccess, you cannot do that, its double standards. You cannot tell Playstation what they are to do with there network prices because you do not own them, you get what you pay for and sony is making use pay for what we purchase/want, you cant get everything you want for free. And if we are not satisfied with the prices sony has put on that certain DLC/game we want, we do not purchase and sony will not gain money, therefore sony will gain nothing but thats not what they want so they will not try to rip us off because they do not want that. And you said you are on our side, what a load of bullshit, no one was complaining to sony until you came along saying you are fighting for us. Everyone was happy with the prices and you just made up shit. If you are really on our side, give us what we REALLY want, and that is for you to stop this whole thing and allow us to play our games peacefully. And if you dont, we, as PSN users, will stand up against you and fight beside sony, we have had enough and we are putting our foot down, we WILL come out on top.

He jailbroke HIS own ps3, now if the ps3 actually belonged to Sony, then theres a reason for Sony to sue him. But GeoHot messing with his own property is his business. Sony is about as fucked up as Microsoft. Anonymous attacked Sony BECAUSE they sued GeoHot. Which is why everyone blames Anonymous for Sony taking down PSN. Sony said there was an external intrusion. What if there wasn’t? What if they’re using this as an excuse to increase the security on PSN, if Anonymous is gonna try and hack it?
