As you might know already, Paramount Pictures is planning to release a movie based on Sonic the Hedgehog in the near future. Well now it’s been reported a famous comedy actor might be playing the role of Dr Robotnik in the new movie.
As reported by Deadline, Paramount Pictures is wanting Jim Carrey for the role of Doctor Robotnik. Doctor Robotnik is of course the main villain of Sonic. This is not the first time Carrey is playing a villain in a movie because he played The Riddler in Batman Forever back in 1995.
The film will have both animation and live action so it’s similar to the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie. This will be the first time Sonic has a movie has he’s only been adapted in comic book and cartoon form in the past.
Other actors confirmed to be in the movie include James Marsden and Tika Sumpter. The movie is being directed by Jeff Fowler and it’s set to come out sometime in 2019.
