Fallout 3: Point Lookout Review

Fallout 3: Point Lookout is an expansion of the highly acclaimed Fallout 3. It is a downloadable content available on the XBOX 360 and soon on the Playstation 3. A stand alone disc will be available for $19.99 on the XBOX 360 and will feature Point Lookout and Broken Steel expansion. The disc will be released this August 18.

Point Lookout is accessible right after you escape from the Vault. It is located in the south eastern side of the map through the port. The expansion will give you a whole new area to explore and to take numerous official and unofficial sidequests. A lot of new weapons can be accessed in this expansion such as the double-barrel shotgun and an axe. New enemies will be here as well and please be reminded that they are not easy as you think.

Point Lookout takes place in the Point Lookout State Park in Maryland. There we no bombs dropped in this area but you will see how this place got affected by the great war. People that lived in this area had struggled and you will see how they have to survive in order to live.

Now let’s take a look on what’s hot and not in this game:

HOT

New Weapons & Items
A double barrel shotgun, an axe, and a shovel are the new weapons available in this game. The double barrel shotgun may be strong but it takes a long time for it to releoad… The Punga Fruit is one of the new items you will get in this expansion. It is a fruit that will take rads away from you and heal you as well.

Five Official Quests & Nine Unofficial Sidequests
Finishing the main quest on Point Lookout will take roughly 5 hours to finish. The area is not as big as the Wasteland but there are a lot of interesting places that you can explore. Decisions must be made in this expansion because the ending can be different depending on your action.

After finishing the main quest, you are welcome to do nine more unofficial sidequest. It is easy but when you complete it, there will be no achievement.

New Achievements
There’s a 100 Available achievements that you can get in this expansion. Three of them are from the main quest and the other one will have you explore every inch of Point Lookout for a big 40 gamer score points.

Enemies are Crazy!
The people in Point Lookout are crazy and desperate. Don’t underestimate them… they can kill you…

NOT

NONE
I found no reason to not like anything in this expansion. There are no cons because every penny you spend on this is worth it.
