Sega Could Be Planning To Resurrect Huge IPs

Sega was a juggernaut back in the ’90s as it released a lot of games with many famous characters. Sadly though, many of these IPs have been on the backburner. This could change in the near future.

As reported by Gematsu, Sega reported on a roadmap to investors on what it wants to do in the near future. This includes “Revival of major IPs” and also “Challenge for new IPs“. The company wants to also expand its reach for PC games in North America and Europe.

Sega has not done much with a lot of franchises. This includes Streets of Rage, Alex the Kidd, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe and a whole lot more.

It’s also interesting that the Virtua Fighter franchise has been laid dormant too. It’s been 10 years since the original version of Virtua Fighter 5 came out on consoles and a Virtua Fighter 6 has never been made.
