Mario Kart 8 Causing Nintendo Switch Sellouts Says Gamestop

It’s been hard for Gamestop to supply new Nintendo Switch stock due to high demand. This is getting even harder since the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as Switch consoles are now flying off shelves at an even faster rate.

Forbes interviewed Eric Bright who is Gamestop’s Senior Director of Merchandising. He gave an update to just how insanely popular the Nintendo Switch console is in North America.

He said: “It’s exceeding our expectations. We knew it would be a high demand product, but our Switch allocations are selling out not in days, but in hours…the demand is so high that consumers have to react quickly to be able to get their hands on them.”

He even said that demand has not slowed down ever since launch. This is impressive since the Switch library was small back in March. Now things are going to get even crazier with better games coming out later this year. If you want to buy the console, try and do it ASAP if you can find one.
