When the Nintendo Switch’s price was first revealed, several people didn’t like that it was in the higher price range of $299. Nintendo has now defended the price tag it has set.

The Telegraph had a chance to interview Nintendo’s Shinya Takahashi who is the company’s Manager of Entertainment Planning and Development. He defended the price of the Nintendo Switch due to the versatility of the console.

He said that some people have a different value point for the system which is understandable. He says other people see the versatility and different play styles that it offers. Due to this, its value outweighs anything else. He does admit that it ends up on personal opinion though.  .

He does have a point since iPads and some other tablets cost more than the Nintendo Switch. The Switch though is powerful enough to play full powered console video games.
