EA has announced during an investor’s call that there will be no Need for Speed game released in 2014.
Ever since the year of 1997, one or more Need for Speed game has been released. It was an annual thing much like EA’s sports games. EA has decided to miss 2014 to develop a fresh new game for the series to be out in 2015.
Need for Speed developer Ghost Games said in a statement from Eurogamer about the decision:
We’ve made the decision to not release a Need for Speed in 2014, so we can work towards a highly innovative Need for Speed in 2015. An experience built on a foundation we know you’ll greatly look forward to.
Not that there isn’t a drought of racing games out there. Driveclub for PS4 will be released in October while Ubisoft will be releasing The Crew later this year as well.
Still, the movie was out this year so there was at least one NFS related product out in 2014…
