Sony has renewed the “Dark Chronicle” trademark after it expired last July.
“Dark Chronicle” was renewed on March 27th this year by Sony. Sony had the rights to the name for ten years until it expired last July. Nobody claimed the trademark, so Sony is obtaining it again.
Dark Chronicle was a great JRPG developed by Level-5. North Americans called the game Dark Cloud 2. The game was released back in 2003 and was well received by fans and critics. A follow up game was never made.
Whether or not Sony plans to resurrect the series on PS4 remains to be seen. It would be cool if they announce something at E3 if they actually plan on doing something.
