Tribute Games, an indie developer located in the Great White North (Canada), has been hard at work getting their latest game Mercenary Kings ready for the launch of the Playstation 4.
Their first title for the Playstation 4 is a tribute to the side scrollers of the NES area, fitting for the company’s name. Mercenary Kings aims to bring us back to the days of Contra and Bionic Commando while bringing in the modern conventions of customizable weapons and item crafting. Much of the art style is reminiscent of 2010’s Scott Pilgrim vs The World and for good reason. The developers founded Tribute Games back in 2011 with the help of Jonathan Lavigne and Justin Cyr, who among others in their employee roster, worked on the aforementioned Scott Pilgrim title before leaving Ubisoft.
Mercenary Kings is slated to arrive on the PS4 later this Winter, but if you just can’t wait for your action fix, you can purchase a PC copy of Mercenary Kings directly from the developers HERE and get immediate access to the Steam Early Access.
