Defiance facing launch issues, Trion Worlds promises to fix it ASAP

Defiance PC

Having just released yesterday, many Defiance players are already dealing with launch issues plaguing the game right out of the box.

For the past twenty four hours, the game has received several emergency maintenances to fix minor issues within the game on all platforms. Right now, Defiance is not the smoothest MMO game you will play as there are major issues to be found within the game, such as the built in VoIP isn’t working as intended. In order to keep fans updated, Trion Worlds released a statement that the game will be fixed through patches that they’re currently working on. The list of major issues that they’re focusing on are below:

  • Connectivity – Being able to connect, patch and play. This has a number of things that can be plaguing you depending on platform and what version of the game you have. We’re on it like a shark during winter solstice.
  • Pre-order items – WHERE ARE THEY?!?!? We have a number of cases where they aren’t being delivered to you. We know. They haven’t disappeared nor will they. They might pop up suddenly over the next hours, the next time you log on or tomorrow.
  • Bosses and Arkfalls – They might be very difficult as they scale and the rewards not in any sane correlation to what they should be, being this difficult. You’re right, it’s not right. On it.
  • Chat and VOIP – This isn’t broken, we just believe people should use their psychic abilities more. Can you hear what I’m saying to you right now? Yes, exactly. We’re working on it.

Let’s face it, it’s rare for a MMO to have a smooth launch as issues will arise as soon as live servers are up. However, with Trion Worlds promising to fix it, let’s give the company a few weeks to settle the issues. As of right now, the game is plagued with issues, though it’s not broken and is still playable. Check back with us in a week or two for our coverage.

  1. “Playable” is a relative term. You can’t play it the way it was meant to be played right now. When you party up to do quests together you can’t stay in synch with your team mates. If you play in an area that a lot of other players are in you’re in for lag that basically shuts you down, and forget trying to attend an arkfall event.

If you go off on your own you can get by, but it still takes 15 seconds to switch weapons, and enemies don’t die for a while after their health is gone.

I expected some issues but this is above and beyond those expectations. Trion has a lot of hard work ahead of them to get this working and fast, before they lose the trust of players and can’t sell another game in the future.
