Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophies Won’t be Retroactive

When it was finally announced Metal Gear Solid 4 would receive trophies, many gamers planned on finishing things or just start up the title. However according to Konamis latest podcast episode, the trophies will not be retroactive. This basically means you will have to redo everything required for a trophy, which could include having to redo the big boss emblem.

Naturally this might be disappointing to many gamers, but this was implemented to prevent people from cheating for trophies. Sure it is still quite annoying, though being ensured your achievement isn’t tarnished is a worthy trade off. Finally for those waiting for the trophy patch, it’s release date will be announced at the Metal Gear Solid 25th Anniversary event on August 30th.
