E3 2012: Nintendo Announces Miiverse for Wii U

After it’s original announcement at last years E3, Nintendo has finally updated us on the WiiU’s progress. One of the updates is a new social networking platform, known as Miiverse. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata called it a “Mii universe.” It seems to be a more expansive version of  Mii plaza and includes Miis from all over the world.

This newly redesigned plaza will show all the Miis gathered around different Wii U titles. It will also feature a messaging system, which will allow  players to communicate with each other. With this you can naturally converse with your friends, which is similar to things we’ve seen with Playstation Home.

The Miiverse will be available for the Wii U, the 3DS, and mobile devices. Some features might not be available at launch, but will come sometime after.
