When Sony revealed that the PS One Classics will finally be available on the PS Vita, many are wondering as to whether it will be done via a new firmware update or through some sort of activation on the PlayStation Store.

Moments after the press briefing of Sony, a press release revealed that a new firmware will be coming out this summer. The new firmware will add the ability to play PS One classics on the PS Vita. Expect games such as Final Fantasy VII, Crash Bandicoot, and Resident Evil Director’s Cut to be the first batch of games to be available on the PS Vita.
