UBM TechInsights has estimated that the total cost of the 3DS’s system hardware to be around $101.
The device will be $15 more than what it cost Nintendo to produce the DSi. Retailers are currently selling the the 3DS for $250. This also includes all the marketing and packaging of the device too.
Nintendo is still hopeful it can make a profit by selling the device.
