3Dchat LLC along with developer Golemlabs Studios launched their beta for 3Dchat, a virtual world game for adults only. Says Glenn Garritano, CEO of 3Dchat LLC, “we wanted to bring some fresh new ideas into the virtual world market, and with this unique combination of virtual world and social networking in 3Dchat, we have absolutely done that. 3Dchat is a place where players are free to be themselves and find experiences that fit their interests.”
The ‘game’ utilizes connections with various partners such as PayPal, eBay, and Aristotle to confirm identities of users, as well as their age. 3Dchat is aimed at a mature audience while supposedly providing unique experiences for all its users. Players will be able to have a drink at a pub, dance with strangers or friends, or merely chat with other users. What 3Dchat will do to differentiate itself from Second Life remains to be seen, and at the end of the day, what will it do to make itself better than real life experiences?
