TheSpeedGamers will be holding a marathon of Nintendo’s Metroid series on March 12 2010 for 72 hours, attempting to beat all the games in the series while raising money for Halton Autistic Family Support Group (HAFS).
TheSpeedGamers have been streaming live video game marathon over Ustream for nearly two years (This marathon marking their two-year anniversary) and in that time have raised over $125,000 in over fifteen marathons, their most succesfull being their week long Final Fantasy marathon. TheSpeedGamers are based in Ardlington, Texas, but have viewers, members, and even staff members from all over the world, including Canada, Denmark, Australia, Japan, UK, Finland, and more.
During the marathon, TheSpeedGamers will be broadcasting the marathon on their website ( http://www.thespeedgamers.com ) and Ustream’s website. They will be streaming not only the games, but also a commentator feed and room cam at all times as to keep the viewers entertained. They will also be giving away various prizes.
