Student attempts to break World Record

Austin Peay State University student David Scherer is attempting to break the world record for “Longest Continuous Time Playing a Video Game”. The 19-year-old from Clarksville, Tennessee U.S.A will try and play Grand Theft Auto IV for 72 hours. The current record belongs to 26-year old Chirantan Patnaik of India who managed to continuously play for 40 hours and 20 minutes. Here is what David had to say about the record attempt.

“I’m an avid gamer and back in September, I saw an article that was written up about the guy over in India who broke the old record and set the new one,” he said. “And I thought since I play video games all the time, I could break that any day of the week.”

David is doing this to help raise enough money so that he can build a permanent indoor pool facility for his swimming team at Austin Peay State University.
