The Surge 2 – Delver and Delver Echo Guide

After some fairly simple bosses, The Surge 2 changes things up with Delver. This fight is a weird mix of really simple and fairly annoying. Nothing about the fight itself is hard, it just has a lot of times the flow can work against you and stamina use becomes a major issue. Still, it isn’t that bad as long as you can get past the second phase.

Editor’s Note: This guide does not include the method to unlock the 2.0 weapon. At the time of writing, it is not currently known how to unlock it in The Surge 2

Here’s our The Surge 2 Delver and Delver Echo Boss Guide

Surge 2 Delver

Preparation

Since Delver can’t be stunned, I suggest sticking to something with range. From there, build around nanite resistance and make sure you’re able to dodge when need be. This is also a fight where the R-1 ‘Diode’ Laspistol puts in a lot of solid work. It really just comes down to knowing when to fight and when to run.

Method

Phase 1

For the first phase you really just want to get close, attack until you think the Delver is going to attack and then leap back. This really is all that comes into play, with the only notable attack being its underground attack. When Delver does that, get as many free hits as you can during while it digs and then just avoid it entirely. You can probably get a couple easy hits, the problem is you’ll waste a lot of stamina doing so.

Phase 2

This is by a wide margin the hardest part. I suggest you start by unloading all your shots into it, followed by waiting for a the attack that stuns it. This is when it turns into a rock, flies up to the ceiling, shoots twice, moves, shoots twice again and then comes at you. During this time attack the crystals and then when he comes down get ready to attack. Also, if you keep close range, you can block the rush, but you can not block the long rush.

Phase 3

Oddly enough, this is the easiest part of the fight. All you need to do is be around mid-range, wait for it to rush at you, jump to the left side and attack when it starts to stand up. If you’re cautious enough you’ll never take damage and even if you’re not, it’s typically slow enough to make things extremely easy.

Video Guide

Delver Echo

After you get past the next boss, there will be optional Delver Echo bosses. You should see one when you exit The Underground following the next boss fight, which will be a rather empty room with a suspicious chest. Going for the chest activates the fight with, if it’s the same for everyone, the second phase of Delver. Returning to this spot after defeating it will have the first phase version of Delver. Finally, near the hotel you’ll find the third and final version. There is also a quest for the last one in the Cloud 9 bar if you talk to the police woman.
