Rumor: Call of Duty: MW2 Remastered Might Be Single Player Only

Call of Duty games are usually super popular thanks to their addictive offline and online multiplayer modes. Well it’s weird to report that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered might just include the single player campaign only. This is an odd choice considering the 2016 release of the first Modern Warfare Remastered had a multiplayer mode intact.

According to sources from both Charlie Intel and Eurogamer, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is real and is expected to be out later this year judging by many retail listings. Another thing both sources point out is the lack of a multiplayer mode!

Just adding the single player mode seems underwhelming considering the fact that Call of Duty games aren’t very long. Modern Warfare 2 had one of the shortest campaigns in COD history as I remember I completed the game in around 4 to 5 hours in my first playthrough. I’m pretty sure more skillful players will be able to get an even faster time.

It has also been reported that Raven Software will not be developing the remaster as Beenox might be doing it instead. It’s worth mentioning Activision declined to comment to both websites so that’s why this is a rumor for now. That said, it appears we will be getting both Black Ops 4 and Modern Warfare 2 Remastered later this year.

The only good thing about the lack of a multiplayer mode is the fact that the price for the Remaster is expected to be much lower than $39.99. Honestly though, it’s weird the game might not have a multiplayer mode unless it gets added via an update patch in the future.
