Amazon Canada Previously Lists Splinter Cell 2018 On Its Website

Amazon Canada previously listed Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 2018 on its website, but now it has been removed. That said, this did not stop the internet from capturing the screenshot which might be an indication that Ubisoft could be thinking of releasing a new game in the stealth franchise.

As spotted by a user on Reddit, the listing was listed as Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 2018. There was no other information but it still says Ubisoft is the publisher and the 2018 date means we could see the game come out sometime later this year.

It would make sense for Ubisoft to try and resurrect the dormant franchise since we have never seen a Splinter Cell game get released for the PS4 and Xbox One generation. The last game in the series came out in August 2013 which was three months before the release of the then new PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

The last game called Blacklist did not sell as many copies as Ubisoft hoped for which is why we have not seen another game from the series in a long time. However, with the Metal Gear Solid series pretty much dead after the departure of Hideo Kojima, there is a gap in the market for a serious stealth type of video game.

I’d personally like to see the series come back as the past games have all been great. Hopefully Sam Fisher is still the main character and Ubisoft is able to bring back Michael Ironside as the voice actor. The last person that voiced Fisher was not as good as Ironside.
