Konami’s Metal Gear Survive Did Not Sell Very Well In The UK

A new Metal Gear game of any kind used to be a huge event. Well that was in the past when the series’ director and creator Hideo Kojima was involved in the franchise. With Hideo Kojima no longer working for Konami, interest in the Metal Gear series is now at an all-time low.

Well it seems the launch of Metal Gear Survive did not set the world on fire because it could be one of the lowest selling titles in the entire franchise. The game’s UK debut was underwhelming because it sounds like the game did not sell a lot of copies.

As reported by GFK Chart Track, Metal Gear Survive only debuted at number 6 this week on the all formats gaming chart. Number 6 is pretty low for any new release game since it got beat by lots of older games.

This week’s number 1 was actually FIFA 18 which came out last year. Another old game came second as Rockstar is still selling lots of copies of Grand Theft Auto V. It is by far Rockstar’s best selling GTA game of all time. Third was Activision’s Call of Duty: WWII which is selling way better than 2016’s Infinite Warfare. 2018 is rumored to see the release of Black Ops 4 by Treyarch.

Bandai Namco’s Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet was the only other new release and it only came in at number 37 in the UK chart. March will see the release of lots of other new games as 2018 continues to be a decent year for gaming already.
