First Party New Releases Will Now Head To Xbox Game Pass On Launch Day

Xbox Game Pass is a cool service allowing many Xbox One gamers to play a host of great games for just a small monthly fee. The service is about to get better because Microsoft will now add new games onto the list meaning you can play new releases for a fraction of the price.

Microsoft announced in a blog post that all first party Microsoft video games will be playable on Xbox Game Pass on the day of their release. This means when Sea of Thieves releases worldwide on March 20th, 2018 at both physical and digital retail stores, the game will also be fully playable on Xbox Game Pass too.

It won’t be just a game-by-game basis either because all of Microsoft’s first party games will be added. 2018 will also include the releases of State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3 just to name a few.

Even future video games from the Halo, Gears of War and Forza franchises will be playable from day-one of release on Xbox Game Pass. In entice more people to subscribe, on March 20th Microsoft will be releasing a $59.99 Xbox Game Pass subscription card which will last for six months. This card should be purchasable at major retail partners of Microsoft in March.

The selection of video games in the subscription service sometimes changes so you will still need to buy the games if you want to keep them forever. Still, playing new releases of video games on launch day via a subscription service is awesome. It fills a gap in the rental market mainly because it’s hard to rent new video games anymore with all the video stores closing all around the world.
