With the release of Gran Turismo Sport on PS4, Polyphony Digital is burying the past as Gran Turismo 6’s online features will no longer function.
Polyphony Digital announced the end of Gran Turismo 6’s online servers via the official website. The servers will be shut down forever on March 28th, 2018. Additionally, the end of DLC distribution ends on January 31st, 2018.
The end of online services means many games modes will be inaccessible forever. The modes affected are: Community, Open Lobby, Quick Match, and Seasonal Events. Thankfully, the offline modes will still be playable.
The reason the servers are going down is to give Polyphony Digital more time to focus on Gran Turismo Sport which is out now for the PS4 and PS4 Pro platforms.
