EA made some shocking news earlier this week announcing the closure of Visceral Games. Not to mention the Star Wars game the studio was working on is getting changed.
EA announced in a blog post that the new Star Wars video game is getting a different approach. It will no longer just be a single player linear experience. To cut a long story short, it seems as if the game could be getting online stuff similar to Destiny and The Division.
Both EA Worldwide Studios and EA Vancouver are now working on the game. EA is hoping to transfer as many Visceral employees as possible to the new studios.
EA did not give a reason why Visceral Games had to shutdown. It’s possible EA was not happy with the way the new Star Wars game was going so decided to end Visceral altogether. The game was supposed to be out in Fiscal 2019 but now it sounds like it has been delayed until much later than that.
