This article is a little bit different from the normal news articles as I thought I would just publicize an amazing charity and how fantastic of a year they have had. Child’s Play was set up back in 2003 as a way to try and help sick children get through the worst times of their life with a little joy from games and toys. In that time, the charity has been very successful through an abundance of channels, specifically their livestreams.

In just 2013 alone, Child’s Play raised an astonishing $7.6 million for sick children in their 10th anniversary year. They say this is more than their first seven years of existence combined. Currently, the charity work with over 90 hospitals around the world to make the days a little better for these young kids. Due to the amazing generosity of people, Child’s Play has also been able to begin helping children that are in domestic violence shelters, who certainly could use a little joy in their life.

In their post announcing the total for 2013, Child’s Play had the following to say:

The bulk of our donations don’t come in the form of huge grants: the millions are made up of the $10, $20, $50 donations. They come from game marathons, golf tournaments, eBay auctions, and bake sales. They come from the incredible community that makes the tag line “Gamers give back” an understatement. The community coming together for 10 years has now resulted in $25,196,670. We are humbled, proud, and overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you for making 2013 our best year yet.
