‘Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’ underwater gameplay unveiled

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag just keeps looking better and better with every video or screenshot that is released. With the game having a major focus on the high seas, there was not much doubt that this game would add underwater sections to the game. We knew it was coming, but now we have some video footage of those segments, courtesy of Rev3Games, who interviewed Michael Hampton and Mufizal Mokhtar, two of the gameplay designers for the next entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

While in these underwater areas, you will be unarmed and as a result, you will be vulnerable and be seen as prey to the many creatures you see in the water, including sharks. Edward Kenway, the game’s protagonist, will be given a generous breath meter for swimming underwater, but will also be able to replenish the meter through air pockets and special air barrels that your crew will drop down into the water for you to use.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will be available on October 29 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii U, on PC at a later unannounced date, and as a launch title for both Xbox One and Playstation 4. Check out the new gameplay video with interviews below:
