It seems that Resident Evil 6 will have an unlockable ability that that lets you run through the game without assistance from your A.I. partner. This ability, which is unlocked using in-game Skill Points, has the partner helping you open doors that require them but that is the extent of it. If you get nailed down in a firefight don’t expect them to come running to your aid, you will be on your own.
It may not be so difficult seeing as you had to spend most of RE 4 and RE 5 babysitting a brain-dead partner. It was also stated that this is just one of may different things you can unlock using the Skill Points you find in the game. Resident Evil 6 is set to release on October 2 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
