Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC Review

Lots of Mods and Upgrades
In around four new areas that you will go through, be sure to look at every corner as there are a lot of mods that you can get. The mods and upgrades available in the DLC varies from pistols, shotgun, assault rifle, and even the omni-blade. By the end of the DLC, you will find yourself having an upgrade and mods that you can use in the final battle against the reapers (that’s assuming you haven’t finished the game yet).

Contributes to your War Assets
Without spoiling anything, finishing the DLC will give you war assets that you can use. While it’s not a lot that will dramatically change the outcome, the war assets that you will get will be decent enough to increase the military strength you got.

NOT

Short Length
For the $10 dollars that you will be spending in the Leviathan DLC, expect it to last roughly only two to three hours. While it may have a short length, the DLC does give players the satisfaction of knowing more about the Leviathan, thus fulfilling your Mass Effect knowledge with another lore. The DLC might be short but you will find it satisfying enough to see who and what the Leviathan really is.

May Not Be for People Who Finished It
If you finished Mass Effect 3 and decided to not re-play it again, you will most likely not buy the DLC. Aside from the good story it adds to your game, there’s no other incentives the DLC has to offer like extra characters that you can use. While there are war assets that you can get, it’s not enough for anyone to justify the price since you finished the game already.

VERDICT

Mass Effect 3: Leviathan is a DLC for anyone who hasn’t finished the game yet or barely started. The dark and mysterious storyline that the DLC has will hook gamers who are still playing the game but for those who finished it, there’s less interest now since you know what happens and it won’t contribute a big difference to the ending or playthrough. If you’re in for the wonderful storytelling the Leviathan DLC has, get it, if not, it’s best to leave it alone and save your $10.
