Resistance 3 was lauded when it come out earlier this September. Just Push Start reviewed it and gave it a deserving 4.5/5. However, sales figures in the USA for the game have been lower than expected.
According to a tweet from IGN editor, Jim Reilly, sales figures for Resistance 3 have been less than stellar in the USA. The game only managed to sell 180,000 units on its first month on sale.
“Resistance 3 sold 180,000 units during its first month on sale in the US. That steak is going to taste so good.”
According to a report from Gamersmint, this could be due to a number of factors preventing Resistance 3 from reaching its potential. Marketing for the game was less than stellar in the USA and the game went on sale the same day as Dead Island.
Not only this but in the same month, FIFA 12 and Gears of War 3 sold millions of copies each in their first week worldwide. Worldwide figures have yet to be revealed but it’s not looking pretty.
As aforementioned, sales shouldn’t reflect how good a game really is. Do yourself a favor and play the game. It truly is a fun game.
