Rumor: Call of Duty 2019 Could End Up Being Modern Warfare 4

Next year sees the release of Call of Duty 2019 to be developed by Infinity Ward. While we are unlikely to see a release of Infinite Warfare 2 or Ghosts 2, we could see a return of a favorite franchise that put the COD series on the map in the first place.

A new rumor suggests that next year’s Call of Duty video game will indeed by Modern Warfare 4. This is according to sources that report to GamingIntel. The rumor is said to be believable mainly because the same source shared accurate info about this year’s release of Black Ops 4.

Unlike Black Ops 4 though, it’s expected Modern Warfare 4 will ship with a proper single player campaign with multiplayer and zombies modes. It’s unknown at this stage if a Battle Royale mode will be added in next year’s game, but discussions for it have already been made.

While nobody can officially confirm if this rumor is true, it seems likely Infinity Ward wants to bring back the Modern Warfare series. This is because the previous Ghosts and Infinite Warfare video games weren’t as popular as other recent COD titles.
