EA held its latest financial report today and the company revealed some small information on two AAA video games that will be released within the next 365 days. The news revealed today should be seen as a positive thing as it sounds like EA still wants to please fans rather than upset them.
The first piece of good news EA announced is regarding the release window for BioWare’s next big IP called Anthem. Anthem was revealed last year and had a lot of hype surrounding it. The game was expected to be released in 2018, but now the game will be released in 2019 instead. EA confirmed that the projected release window for the game will now be January 1st, 2019 until March 31st. 2019.
Anthem was delayed mainly because EA needed to rethink its strategy for the game. After many people hated Star Wars Battlefront 2’s pay-to-win system, BioWare and EA has made some changes for Anthem.
The second piece of good news revealed by EA today is about Battlefield 2018. EA confirms that Battlefield 2018 will actually add a single player campaign. This might seem obvious, but EA had to mention it because it’s rumored this year’s Black Ops 4 from Activision will ship without a single player campaign. If this is true, it will be the first major Call of Duty game ever not to have any single player campaign.
