Katsuhiro Harada‏ Explains Why Tekken 7 Is Not 4K On Xbox One X

The Xbox One X is out now and many games have been enhanced to look great in 4K. These games include the likes of Forza Motorsport 7, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Call of Duty: WWII and more. Sadly though, Tekken 7 appears to not be getting a 4k update in the foreseeable future.

A fan asked Tekken 7 producer Katsuhiro Harada on Twitter as to why the game is still not Xbox One X Enhanced. Even of the official Microsoft website, you can see that the fighting game is not on the list of games that have any Xbox One X enhancements.

Harada replied with a reasonable explanation so to why the game cannot hit 4K. He said: “The spec is enough (Of course TEKKEN7 is 4K compatible with Steam). But it requires a significant update of Unreal (UE version of TK7) for X. With the new hardware, we’ve (got) to change the way access our memory greatly“.

If you want to play the game in native 4K, the PC Steam version is the best way to go. Even the PS4 Pro version has some performance enhancements, so it’s weird why Xbox One X owners won’t be seeing any improvements whatsoever for the time being.

Xbox gamers just want the performance of Tekken 7 to be great. Compared to PS4 Pro and PC, the game looks and plays inferior on Xbox consoles for some reason. Anyway, hopefully Bandai Namco changes its mind in the future since the Xbox One X console itself is more than powerful enough to run games in native 4K at 60fps.
