Mass Effect Andromeda Gets Third Biggest UK Launch Of 2017

Despite not being as well received as the original trilogy, Mass Effect Andromeda did have a decent launch in the UK. It is the third biggest launch of 2017 so far.

As reported by UKIE, Mass Effect Andromeda is third place in terms of launches in 2017. It’s behind Ghost Recon Wildlands in first place and Horizon: Zero Dawn in the runner-up position. It still managed to be number one for the week of its release though.

It’s the first EA number 1 game in the UK since the launch of FIFA 17 last year. However, it’s the third biggest launch for a Mass Effect video game too. Both Mass Effect 2 and 3 sold more physical copies at launch compared to Andromeda.

In terms of sales per platform, 55% were for the PS4 version and 41% for the Xbox One version. Only 4% of PC players in the UK bought the physical copy. Digital copies are not reported on, so the numbers are always for retail copies.
