PlayStation Now Open Beta begins today

PlayStation Now

Sony announced today that the PlayStation Now open beta will begin later today to those who have a PlayStation 4 in North America.

Those who will participate in the open beta of the PlayStation Now will have access to over 100 classic PS3 titles, with more added regularly. The PS Now service offers a variety of rental periods ranging from 4 hours, 7-days, 30-days or 90-days.

According to Jack Busser, gamers who will participate in the beta will have access to cloud game saves and other network features such as Trophies, friend lists and leaderboards. As for the multiplayer portion of the games that will be available, playing with friends who have the disc-based version of the game is possible.

In addition to multiplayer access, a game that features a plethora of downloadable content will be given access to those who rent the game. When it comes to the subscription plan, Sony is taking it into consideration and we should hear more about it pretty soon:

In addition, we’ve heard you loud and clear for an update on a PS Now subscription option and want to reassure you that we are working on it. We think PS Now represents the next step toward the future of gaming and we’re excited to have the PlayStation Nation come along with us on the beginning of this journey.
