The upcoming Mario Golf: World Tour, coming exclusively to Nintendo 3DS, will be arriving with plenty of extra content available on release day for a small price.

Set to arrive May 2nd alongside the release of Mario Golf: World Tour, the first of three DLC packs will arrive for $5.99. Each of the three DLC packs will feature two 18-hole courses in addition to an extra golfer. Titled the ‘Mushroom Pack’, this first DLC offering includes Toadette. Later on down the line are the Flower Pack featuring Nabbit (later in May) and the Star Pack featuring Rosaline (June).

Gamers that wish to save a little money from the purchase price can order the Season Pass for Mario Golf: World Tour at $15 (saving $3 versus purchasing each course pack individually), the first one of its kind to be available for a Nintendo title. As an added bonus with the Season Pass, players will gain access to Gold Mario although he will be available at a later date for those that decide not to purchase all three course packs.

Finally, Nintendo announced a new feature for Mario Golf: World Tour called Trial Tournaments. In these, players can sample the downloadable courses and even compete against other players in online tournaments without committing to purchasing a given course pack.

Mario Golf: World Tour will be available on the Nintendo 3DS on May 2nd in North America. Be sure to check back later for our hands-on review!
