Live streaming is most definitely a large part of the gaming culture these days and as a result, gaming companies are trying to make it even easier for it to be done. The PlayStation 4 launched with built in Twitch support for live streaming, but the Xbox One was disappointingly missing that feature. However, it appears the system is going to be getting this major addition very soon, alongside the next system update on March 11.
We knew previously that live streaming would come to the next-gen console from Microsoft sometime this year, but it is great to hear it is coming this soon already. This news came courtesy of Twitch CEO Emmett Shear in an interview with the Associated Press this morning.
It’s complete integration. It’s exciting because we’ve never had the ability to broadcast from a console like this with such a deep level of integration. The concept of being able to join a broadcasters’ party is really cool, and it’s another step in the direction of interacting more closely with broadcasters.
Live streaming will arrive on the Xbox One in the March 11 system update alongside the launch of Titanfall. Stay tuned for more details as they come available prior to the release of the update.
