Originally planned as an expansion pack for Saints Row: The Third, the previously cancelled Enter the Dominatrix is now scheduled to be the first DLC release for Saints Row 4.
Steve Jaros, creator director for Volition, announced the news at a San Diego Comic Con panel. Enter the Dominatrix was planned at the first standalone expansion for Saints Row: The Third, following prior smaller DLC releases. At the time, it was going to be a continuation of the game’s main story, but add in an alien abduction angle along with superpowers. However, it was cancelled last June and said to be included in the next Saints Row game, which is now known to be DLC.
The most intriguing part of this inclusion is how it will be used in the game. Jaros stated that the framing of the DLC will be that of a behind-the-scenes feature, where the characters will explain why this addition was not put in the full retail release.
The Enter The Dominatrix DLC is expected to be released about 45 days after the release of Saints Row 4, which will be available on August 20 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
