Aveline de Grandpre of the hit Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation will make a return in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag where she will have several missions exclusively on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions.
According to lead writer Darby McDevitt, Aveline De Grandpre will have missions that take place “ways after” the events of Liberation that will take an hour to complete. There are a total of three missions dedicated to Aveline, and it was made possible through the Abstergo’s Animus project. It seems that Abstergro has been digging through the memories of past Assassins and somehow found Aveline’s memories.
“It’s a ways forward so Aveline is a bit older,” McDevitt said on the UbiBlog. “It’s not directly related to the end of her story. If Assassin’s Creed IV is like a novel, Aveline’s missions are like a short story.”
“The present-day is set in Abstergo Entertainment – which is this fun, hip company to work for… at first,” McDevitt said. “You are able to access the Aveline stuff because your coworkers are working on retrieving different genetic memories from all kinds of different people.”
Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is scheduled for release this October on current-gen consoles and November for next-gen. Let’s hope that these exclusive missions of Aveline will be worth it. As always, we’ll have our coverage near the release date.
